ReachTEL conducted a five-question survey of 2,856 residents across Australia on the night of 3rd May 2013.
Nationals ahead in Lyne but Rob Oakeshott within striking distance
Last night ReachTEL conducted a four-question survey of 539 residents in the New South Wales Federal electorate of Lyne. The results show that The Nationals are significantly ahead of Independent Rob Oakeshott on the primary vote but when preferences are taken into account, the race is much closer.
Key findings:
· The Nationals are significantly ahead of Independent Rob Oakeshott on the primary vote but a high “undecided” vote of 9.3% will play a big factor.
· Preferences from Labor and The Greens means a much tighter contest on a two party preferred basis.
· Nearly two thirds of those polled think Tony Abbott is the better Prime Minister over Julia Gillard.
